Hale Kalele Residences is a State sponsored, low income rental housing project completed in 2022.

Built to meet the needs of moderate- to lower- income residents in urban Honolulu, the 200-unit property features bike storage, laundry and recreation rooms, large floor-to-ceiling glass windows, Energy Star appliances, photovoltaic panels and batteries providing 60% of the building’s energy needs, EV car sharing and charging stations, and electric bike and scooters available for residents.

The building also holds the Hale Hilina`i Juvenile Service Center, serving low-end law violators younger than age 17. The Center includes a medical lab, interview rooms, temporary sleeping quarters, and a counseling center – with separate entrance on Alder Street.
