Joe Ferguson
Vice President, West Region Development

Joe serves as Vice President of West Region Development at MacNaughton, where he leads the company’s efforts to identify and execute multifamily development opportunities across the Western United States.

In this role, he is responsible for expanding MacNaughton’s mainland presence, building local partnerships, and advancing projects in markets with strong long-term housing demand.

Joe brings more than 20 years of real estate development experience, with a track record of delivering complex mixed-use, multifamily, and commercial projects throughout the Pacific Northwest and Western U.S. Over the past 15 years, he has sponsored and delivered more than $1.3 billion in development projects.

Prior to joining MacNaughton, Joe co-founded Lake Union Partners, helping grow the firm from a startup into one of Seattle’s leading urban development companies. During his tenure, he led the execution of numerous large-scale projects and built deep expertise in capital markets, working closely with private equity partners, family offices, and institutional investors.

Joe is known for his ability to navigate complex urban development environments and for delivering projects that balance strong investment performance with meaningful community impact, including housing and mixed-use developments that contribute to long-term neighborhood growth.

At MacNaughton, Joe is focused on extending the company’s long-term investment philosophy beyond Hawai‘i into select Western U.S. markets where strong job growth and housing supply constraints create opportunities for thoughtfully planned multifamily development.
