Director, Commercial Strategy, Hospitality Division


John oversees all commercial aspects of the Hospitality Division at MacNaughton.

John is an enthusiastic and successful brand strategist with over 25 years of experience in driving both revenue and brand awareness. He has built his career on providing creative solutions to help companies reach their goals, most recently proving his skills at Kaanapali Beach Hotel. In this role he was able to create a global commercial strategy which helped the hotel become Hawaii's top-rated destination by Conde Nast.

John is certified in revenue, marketing and hotel operations from the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International HSMAI (CRME, CHDM & CHBA). He was awarded North America Marketer of the year for 2023 and Pineapple Honoree for contributions to the Hawaii Hospitality industry in 2022.

John brings to every project an impressive wealth of experience in strategic planning combined with a passionate drive to succeed. His approach and innovative ideas have proven to be invaluable assets for companies like Nike, American Express, Heineken and Pepsi. Beyond just being a skillful brand strategist, John is also a highly motivated leader with an eye for detail and the ability to turn any challenge into an opportunity.
