MacNaughton Expands Pacific Northwest Presence with Hiring of Colin Skone as Director of Development & Construction
MacNaughton is excited to announce the hiring of Colin Skone as Director of Development & Construction, based in Seattle. Skone brings over 20 years of experience in real estate development and construction management, with a strong focus on multifamily and mixed-use projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.
In this new role, Skone will oversee the successful execution of MacNaughton’s development and renovation efforts in the region, with a primary focus on the firm’s newly announced multifamily project in collaboration with national rental housing leader Quarterra Multifamily Communities (a subsidiary of Lennar Corporation). Located at 3020 NE 45th Street near the University of Washington and adjacent to Seattle’s vibrant University Village shopping center, the development will feature three buildings and a total of 796 rental units, making it one of the largest multifamily projects ever planned in Seattle.
“We are thrilled to welcome Colin to the MacNaughton team,” said Ian MacNaughton, Chief Executive Officer and Principal at MacNaughton. “His deep experience in urban development and hands-on approach to construction leadership are essential as we bring our U District project to life and continue growing our Pacific Northwest portfolio.”
Prior to joining MacNaughton, Skone served as Senior Vice President of Development at Lowe Enterprises, where he led the firm’s Seattle-based activities from acquisition through disposition. His past roles also include key positions at Alliance Residential, CBRE, GLY Construction, and Burnstead Homes. Over the course of his career, he has contributed to more than $750 million in residential, office, retail, and mixed-use development.
Skone holds both an MBA and a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from the University of Washington. He is an active member of ULI and NAIOP, and serves on the ULI Pacific Northwest Multifamily Product Council.
A lifelong Seattleite, he resides in Laurelhurst with his wife, infant daughter, and three dogs.
